ABOUT ME
I'm Bilal Arif, a Cyber Associate Development Engineer at National Grid, one of the UK's FTSE 100 companies, and the founder of GradPrep Accelerator.
I applied to over 200 graduate schemes and graduate jobs across the UK before landing my offer at National Grid. Along the way I reached final-stage interviews at PwC and Atkins, and learned — the hard way — what actually separates an application that gets rejected from one that makes it through.
I hold an MSc in Programme and Project Management from the University of Warwick and a BEng in Mechatronics Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology.
Since then, I've helped other graduates apply through informal advice on LinkedIn and as a mentor for a year on the Royal Academy of Engineering's Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme (GEEP), including helping students land roles at companies they wanted to join. Alongside that, I've kept researching how the UK graduate recruitment process actually works, from how companies evaluate candidates to what separates a strong application from a rejected one.
OUR PURPOSE
No one can honestly promise you a graduate job. Anyone who does is lying to you.
But preparation is the one lever you actually control and most graduates are never taught how to use it. They learn the UK graduate application process through trial and error, burning through their first month or two of applications before they figure out what actually works. By then, some of the best graduate schemes have already closed.
GradPrep Accelerator exists to close that gap:
My own experience going through the process, 2 years of coaching other applicants, and ongoing research into how to prepare properly, all in one place.

QUESTIONS
Do I need to have already applied to graduate schemes to book a session?
No. Sessions are useful at every stage — from figuring out which roles to target, right through to final interview prep.
What's the difference between a UK graduate scheme and a graduate job?
A graduate scheme is a structured, time-boxed training programme, often with rotations across different parts of a business. A graduate job has less formal structure but is still a valid, valuable way into your industry. I can help you work out which is the better fit for you.
Can you help with assessment centres and video interviews specifically?
Yes — these are two of the most common areas people book sessions for, alongside CV and cover letter review.
Do you guarantee I'll get a graduate job?
No one honestly can, and I won't pretend otherwise. What I can do is make sure you're as prepared as it's possible to be.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes. If you feel a session genuinely didn't add value to your application journey, I'll refund it — the only thing I ask in return is honest feedback on what didn't work, so I can actually improve for the next person.
